Casey is a writer/nerd from the suburban wilderness of Northern New Jersey. She first experienced the call to nerdom at the age of four when her father started telling her the story of the Battle of Gettysburg to put her to sleep. She further realized her true calling as a nerd when she received her first Spiderman comic at the age of 6. Since then, she has read everything she could get her hands on, dressing up like a female iron man for cons, doing nerd karaoke, and being sorted into Ravenclaw. She enjoys cross-shipping BTVS and SPN characters, screaming at the phones at work, dancing like a teen in a 60s surfer movie, and crying over good writing. Her ultimate goal, besides finally defeating the boredom monster and playing Janet Weiss in a Rocky Horror shadow cast, is to be a published writer. She currently works in advertising, runs a comic book blog, and is the proud pet human of a hyper 11-year-old Dachshund. You can tweet her @luluthepenguin or follow her tumblr.
Jessica is a 22-year-old girl born and raised in New Jersey. Her fascination with all things nerdy and wonderful started at a very young age when she fell in love with Ghostbusters (as is evidenced by the many pictures of her as a child wandering around in a jumpsuit and snow boots). Jessica has a weakness for the supernatural and horror comedies, but also for anything that is odd and quirky. Sherlock, The Walking Dead, Spaced, Buffy, Firefly, Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Muppets - if it has a cult following, odds are she loves it. Jessica is really excited to be contributing to this amazing website!
Donyae has been wearing glasses un-ironically since she was three way before nerd was cool. Her mother brought her first game system when she was five quite possibly to make her feel better about having a younger sibling and moving to a new state. Whatever her motivation, growing up a Nintendo kid inspired a lifelong love of video games. She’ll read just about anything you put in front of her. Science fiction, Fantasy, Horror, much like a Honey Badger, she just doesn’t care. She also doesn’t care if you’re listening when she goes on and on about her obsessions. It’s best just to sit back and listen. She’ll tire herself out eventually. She’s Switerzland in the Star Wars/Trek battle (you’re both pretty) but she definitely has an opinion on who should sit on the Iron Throne. Her favorite authors are Stephen King and Octavia E. Butler and she likes stories about terrible future worlds that make her cry.
Adam Weiler is some sort of noun with a fierce passion for cartoons, comedy, superhero comics, film, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. He lives in New York where he spends his time doing a certain selection of the following: fighting 8th-dimensional pirates, eating, rescuing plumbers from giant, flesh-eating princesses, mediating between warring Viking clans, establishing colonies on dust particles, sleeping, writing, reading, raising furry dragons for a major fashion empire, watching, and breathing. We can neither confirm nor deny reports that Adam is really a collection of root beer bottles that has gained sentience. Although we think that cream soda is much more likely. Adam is extremely proud of the fact that he has never seen the gangnam video nor watched a single episode of Oprah. He has watched episodes of The O.C.

Jaxo is 20 years old, from the eternally sunny Las Vegas. She’s very crafty and enjoys to create things. She currently works as a writer, consultant, and editor in the world of indie comics, currently working on publishing her first original piece. She loves Star Wars (See: Obsession), lots of other science fiction/fantasy and cooking shows and will probably never be over pokemon.
Rachel is a recent college grad living on the outskirts of Chicago. She enjoys reading literature and comics/graphic novels, watching a ridiculous amount of TV (such as Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Community, and Parks & Rec) and movies (favorite: Little Miss Sunshine), button-mashing her PS3 game controller, and eating anything within a ten-foot radius. She currently has a growing collection of cute Iron Man toys and children's books because she hopes to one day write some of her own books for children to enjoy. Her other hobbies include drawing and rolling around on the floor like an obese panda. Lastly, her kryptonite is dogs. Seriously. If you ever pass her by on the streets with your dog, she will surely stop in her tracks and waddle towards your dog and start to ask lots of creepy questions. It's safest to walk by as quickly as possible.
Corrine Miller is a twenty something currently residing in New York. She was the valedictorian for the class of 2008 from Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Corrine’s days are spent reading, watching movies and TV, and obsessing over her many nerdy interests. She is fanatical about the Marvel universe, The DC universe, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek TNG, Doctor Who, and oh so much more. A fun fact about Corrine is that she once saw Bill Murray in drag at the Palisades Mall in Upstate New York, and that image literally haunts her dreams (truly terrifying). You won’t find Corrine on Twitter, but she can be followed on Tumblr at forshamed.tumblr.com
Lexi is a student at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Creative writing, Media Studies, and Digital Arts and Culture. Her dream is to be an adventurer, but since there is not much call for them in this day and age, she will make do with being a writer. She is fascinated by storytelling in all mediums, which has led her to love not only books but also rpgs, comic books, sci fi tv shows, zines, and many other ways to tell stories. Some of her other interests include going to drag shows, tattoo culture, exploring creepy places, making crafts, and collecting monster toys. Lexi is owned by a cat named Arya, who puts up with Lexi’s tendency to ignore her for video games.
Gabe Rodriguez is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and lyricist. Calling Gabe a nerd is like calling the sky blue. His nerdy interests include Stephen King, Disney, NARNIA, BABYLON 5, STARK TREK, GARGOYLES, DOCTOR WHO and film history. He's not sure if these count as nerdy, but he's also addicted to BREAKING BAD, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and LES MISERABLES
Emily is a reviewer extraordinaire. Her hobbies include watching TV, talking about TV, and complaining about TV shows being canceled. Her two hour train commute gives her enough time to catch up on Iron Man and Deadpool trades. When she’s done discussing the impact of nerd culture on society, she is working hard to suppress her obsessions with Robert Downey Jr. and Tony Stark.
Feeling like you need to debate the merits of leveling up? Or redress the mayhem that would have arisen had Keanu Reeves actually been billed to play Spike Spiegel in a live-action make of Cowboy Bebop? (Note: Fear still as this project is forthcoming but in development purgatory.) Look no further for Lorena is here to help you explore these complex and deep questions. While not practicing the art of Sasuke or admiring .. err … rather devouring … delicious empanadas, Lorena can be found in dingy arcade halls furrowing her brow in her diligent efforts to survive the endurance rounds of Mortal Kombat. A product of the Windy City Lorena is a proud RPG enthusiast with a specialty in the Realm of Elder Scrolls and the Epics of Final Fantasy. Some of her notable accomplishments include the breeding of the illustrious Gold Chocobo (FFVII), the defeat of the Channelwood Age safe (Myst), the survival of the Island Closest to Hell (FFVIII), and the graduation from the College of Winterheld (Skyrim).
Lorena can be reached via a Tweet @loooorenanicole or, of course, by messenger owl. Preferably a Snowy White Owl named Hedwig.
